Hot off the Press!
Let's Explore the World Around Us with a Critical Eye!

Clipart of a newspaper; Size=234 pixels wide

During the week this week I challenge each of you to pick up a newspaper that is local and one that covers events around the world. Read an interesting article in the Hartwell Sun and think about how it impacts you and your surroundings. Discuss the article with your parents.
Now, read an article in the U.S. Constitution. Think about how the article impacts you and your surroundings. Discuss the article with your parents.
Each Friday our classroom will be transformed into Mrs. King's Cafe where we will discuss our articles and our opinions and conclusions with our peers. The environment will be warm and everyone's opinions and thoughts will be respected by all.
Occassionally, we will have guest reporters visit our Cafe and share their reporting skills with us. They will assist us in developing our skills to report events and happening at our school.
Why? We will soon be embarking on our own reporting mission as we create the Navigator's Journal, our school newspaper. Be preparing to be investigators and reporters of the facts. You will also have the opportunity to complete a job application for the desired job at our Newspaper Office. Watch the bulletin for more details!
